Admitted to the German bar as Rechtsanwalt in 2002.

Thomas Becker is Of Counsel with GOF and an experienced project lawyer specializing in IP/IT, commercial law and digitization/data protection.

Thomas has advised clients on numerous technology-related projects and corporate transactions in the technology sectors. He has a wealth of experience in the procurement of complex services for public and private clients. He also advises on all aspects of intellectual property, licensing law and data protection.

From 2002 to 2012, Thomas worked as a lawyer for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in Cologne, becoming Counsel in 2008. He studied law at the universities of Mainz and Cologne, and holds a Master of European Law (LL.M. Eur.) degree from the Europa-Institut of Saarland University. The subject of his thesis is European competition law.

Thomas is co-author of a practitioner’s commentary on European and German data protection law. He speaks German, English and French.
