Munich, September 1, 2021 – Gütt Olk Feldhaus advised Mittelhessische Druck- und Verlagsgesellschaft (MDV) on the acquisition of the newspaper "Gießener Anzeiger" from the VRM media group.
"Gießener Anzeiger" is a regional newspaper for the city and district of Gießen published from Monday to Saturday with a paid circulation of more than 20,000. "Gießener Anzeiger" was founded as "Giesser Wochenblatt" in 1750 and as such is the fourth oldest newspapers in Germany.
VRM is a media and service group for the western and southern Rhein-Main-area with corporate headquarters in Mainz and counts to the ten biggest publishing groups in Germany.
MDV is a holding company which, inter alia, is invested in ZHH Zeitungsholding Hessen, under the roof of which the publishing activities of MDV and the Dierichs media group were merged in 2017.
The transaction is part of a complex carve-out and as such still subject to usual conditions.
