Munich, June 12, 2024 – Gütt Olk Feldhaus has advised the European investment company Gimv on the acquisition of a majority stake in SMG Sportplatzmaschinenbau GmbH. Two of the previous three shareholders will remain shareholders and retain their current management positions.
SMG is a globally active company in the development and manufacture of state-of-the-art machines in the field of synthetic sports surfaces and artificial turf for the sports industry, which are used by Real Madrid, FC Bayern Munich and the Miami Dolphins, among others.
Gimv is a Euronext-listed investment company with 40 years of experience in private equity. The company currently manages around EUR 1.5 billion and invests in around 60 portfolio companies with a combined turnover of more than EUR 3.7 billion and 20,000 employees.
