Munich, 7 May 2025 – The commercial law firm Gütt Olk Feldhaus has advised Family Trust Investor (FTI) and its portfolio company Urban Apes on the financing of the acquisition of the Steinbock Group.
Behind Urban Apes is the investment company Family Trust Investor (FTI), which has been pursuing a targeted buy-and-build strategy in the field of indoor climbing since the end of 2020. With the acquisition of Steinbock, FTI strengthens the market position of Urban Apes and sets another milestone on the way to becoming the leading platform in the European bouldering segment.
The Urban Apes Group continues its growth course and takes over the bouldering halls of the Steinbock companies with locations in southern Germany and Austria. The transaction makes Urban Apes the largest operator of bouldering halls in the DACH region. The expanded group now comprises 18 locations and employs over 700 people in Germany and Austria.
